For brow mapping
The key to symmetrical brows!
When it comes to shaping the brows, there is no such thing as “one fits all”, because eyebrows are different for every individual. So when it comes to shaping your brows, it’s important that you work towards the correct brow shape for your face and your natural eyebrow shape. At this point, brow mapping comes into play!
This technique helps you to find the ideal brow shape on your face. By taking multiple measurements of the eyebrows and eyes you can establish the correct brow shape. It is a process of marking specific points on your eyebrows that allow you to highlight where your eyebrows should start, where the arch should be, and where your brow tails should end ideally. It creates symmetry between both brows when styling and is one of the easiest ways to create major errors, e.g. brows that are too thin or a brow arch that is being pushed inwards too far. When done properly, eyebrow mapping can really improve your results and change the way your face looks, drawing attention to certain areas and away from others.
Why do you even need to map your customer’s eyebrows? In essence, it is a roadmap to creating flawless and perfectly symmetrical brows. Unlike a stencil application where a pre-shaped stencil is used to draw the brow shape, eyebrow mapping is specifically adapted to every client’s individual features. When done correctly, you can create the perfect brows and even an illusion of a lift around the eye area by bringing symmetry to the face and balancing the eyes with eyebrow mapping.
There are several ways you can apply brow mapping. Most of them follow the same pattern and that is by following the golden ratio technique. However, I see that everyone adds their own twist to it, and that's totally okay. Every artist has its own tricks, right?
What usually is similar in every technique used, are these 3 basic points that are explained below. These 3 points indicate where the eyebrow should start, where the arch of the brow is, and where the brow ends.
Point 1: Starts on the crease of the nostril, all the way up until your eyebrow. This line is the starting point of your eyebrow.
Point 2: Starts from the side of your nose, right through the iris, to the arch of the eyebrow. The point indicates where the highest part of the brow arch should be.
Point 3: Start at the bottom of the outside corner of the nostril, and draw a line until the outer corner of the eye and a bit up. This should be the endpoint of your eyebrow.

In order to map your brows thoroughly, it is important to take multiple measurements and draw a number of guidelines on your client’s face to mark exactly where your brows should be.
Supercilium offers a wide range of products and articles that help you with creating perfectly symmetrical brows. Our Brow Mapping Kitincludes all the essential tools to make brow mapping easy and to create the most flawless brows. The Brow Mapping Kit comes with the best-selected materials like brow paste, black mapping string, sticker rulers, and a Small Angled Spoolie brush. With the brow ruler, you can easily measure the eyebrow’s position, length, and size. With the mapping string, you can pre-draw sharp lines onto the brows. With the Supercilium Brow Paste, you can connect the lines of the brow shape. Besides this, the Brow Paste also works as a barrier which will give you super sharp lines for the most perfect brows.
Simply place the ruler above the brows and mark the points for accurate measurements and shape of the brows. You can easily measure the eyebrow's position, size, and length. This ruler allows you to ensure even length and placement of brows for your clients and fits great on all face shapes and sizes. On our blog, we teach you how to achieve the perfect results with the Brow Ruler.
This Pre-inked Eyebrow Mapping String is the perfect tool to use before Brow Henna, PMU, and Microblading applications. It allows you to easily map the perfect brows and create symmetrical, straight lines on your client’s face. The thread is coloured with cosmetic-grade ink, which is easy to remove.
Just pull the string out of the box, and hold the mapping string tight at all times during the use. The thin thread is highly saturated, which gives you the ability to create perfect brow shapes in no time! Our tip is to use the nostril as a starting point to create super-sharp straight lines to mark the beginning, end, and precise arching point of the eyebrows.
Brow mapping paste is used to help you create the desired map for a perfect eyebrow shape and to achieve symmetry. By adding brow paste into your brow routine, you can create the perfect canvas for tint later on. The big plus here is that it makes it visible which hairs belong within the right parameters of the desired brow shape. This makes the shaping process way easier. The paste also works as a barrier for brow henna or dye, so you will have super sharp lines after applying the product.
As we wanted to include an ingredient that adds a nourishing effect as well, our brow paste contains Aloe Vera. It calms, soothes, hydrates the skin, and is full of vitamins and amino acids. The aloe vera will give some extra love to the skin around the eyebrows, which can be needed before treatments like waxing, tweezing, or threading.
Apply a small amount of brow mapping paste with a Medium Angled Brow Brush or our Concealer Brush along the contour of the desired eyebrow shape. Repeat on the other brow, and make sure you create symmetry by using a Brow Ruler. Leave the eyebrow and the skin that needs to be tinted empty, so the paste can work as a barrier. You can use the brow mapping paste in multiple ways to achieve flawless eyebrows: either draw a simple bottom line or map the entire brow. It is also possible to use the Brow Paste as a highlighter for the eyebrows. Just use a small amount of the product and apply it to the bottom line to highlight the results and make the brows stand out even more.
